The KM Meta-Model

Over the past few months Perigean Technologies and K3-Cubed have been working to produce a KM Meta Model (M-Model) for knowledge management (KM) and organisational learning. The model is not designed to be a KM solution. It is designed to stimulate the reflective practitioner/manager and, in doing so, identify areas that might be neglected in existing practice. It sets out to examine what drives KM, the way in which those drivers impact an organisation and, from there, the constructs that a well-designed KM function will need to consider

The M-Model is presented in Concept Map format, and represents over 1,000 hours of research and design time. It will continue to evolve as part of an iterative process. We hope that the model stimulates your thinking and, maybe, changes your perception of what KM is actually about.
